Scheme for Rehabilitation of Manual Scavengers (SRMS)

The SRMS is implemented at National level through the NSKFDC and in Delhi through the SCA of NHFDC in Delhi (Delhi SC/ST/OBC Minorities Handicapped Financial & Development Corporation (DSFDC)) and NHFDC is appointed as the nodal agency for implementing in Delhi. |
|
|
|
1085 Manual Scavengers have been identified by DSFDC (as per the Survey report submitted by Department of Social Work, Delhi University on August 2007) for training and self employment scheme for rehabilitation. |

Loan for Self Employment
| A) |
Out of the 723 traceable & willing scavengers, 14 scavengers are provided training but they are not interested in taking loan. 709 scavengers are willing to taking loan; DSFDC has forwarded all 709 loan applications to banks The Status loan applications are as under-:

| B) |
DSFDC has completed formalities to provide Mobile Cold Vending Cart to 31 indentified scavengers. The cold carts & technology were provided in association with the NGO-“We The People”. DSFDC released a capital subsidy of Rs. 3,937 Lakh to the NGO for the purpose. Till date only 5 manual scavengers came forward to avail the mobile cold vending carts out of the selected 31. |
